GRIN-A- BIT

"The bullfrog and the grasshopper and other "tails"

N Apostrophe T

The only difference between is and isn't
Is the N APOSTROPHE T
What makes does a doesn't?
The N APOSTROPHE T.

Hasn't derives from a has,
And couldn't evolves from a could.

Use each of them right, and they more than might

Make wording your writing real good.

A negative turns into a plus

Without the N APOSTROPHE T,

Like didn't to did, or won't to will--

But to do it you must use all three.

Mercy Me

Oh! My goodness! What have I done!
I dare not move at all.
I can't look down or bat an eye
Or I could quickly fall.

My foot is right there at the edge
The worst place it could be
How'd I get so far up here
And not have Mom with me?

To move would be a big mistake
I know I must stay put
A big black "SNAKE" with open mouth
Is crawling across my foot

I'll stay real still. I will not move
I hope I do not scream
Oh mercy me...I just woke up
Thank goodness! Just a dream!

Charlie`s To`s

Charlie has trouble with to`s.
He never knows which one to use.

When he wants number two.

He writes it as too.

And he uses this TO for Two, Too.

Bonnie Lou

Bonnie Lou said,
"Sarah who?
Did you ask
How do I do?"

 Sarah who said,
"Bonnie Lou,
I know your name
But who are you?"

Said Bonnie Lou,
"You make me hot!
To know my name
And know me NOT."

"Well, Whoopteedo!"
Said Sarah who.
"I make you hot?
You do me, too!!"

Piggy Tails

A piggy`s tail doesn't do much for the pig,
But it keeps him from having nothing there.

If the tail was attached to any place else,

The piggy would not even care.

It`s much too short to swat any flies
Or do anything worthwhile.

So if the tail isn't used by the pig,

He must have it there just for "style."

Bessy

Bessy's riding her pony
As fast as it can go.
In the woods she hits a branch
Hanging much too low

It strikes her on the "noggin, "
And makes her dizzy and weak.
So now she's riding on her back
And guiding with her feet.

Digging Kittens

Two kittens digging in the sand one day,
Their tails were facing each other,

As each little kitten tried to dig his hole

The sand from the other would cover.

Both kittens got disgusted

`Cause their holes kept filling with sand.

Neither little kitten could dig a hole,

And they just couldn't understand.

The kittens started thinking out loud to themselves
"Why does my hole disappear?

I've been digging on holes for weeks and weeks,

But I just can't dig one here."

Neither kitten knew that the other was there

So they didn't know the other was to blame,

That each kept covering the other one's hole

And the faster they dug, the faster sand came.

Each was determined to dig a hole

So they dug with the strongest of wills,

But the quicker they dug, the higher sand piled

And instead of holes, they dug hills.
