Dear Mr. Larke,

As another school year begins, we reflect about the opportunities which were offered for professional growth in our area.  It is with pride that we evaluate the recent week-long g/t  conference, which we hosted.  The Brazoria County G/T  Conference which took place from August  2 - 6, was very successful due to the quality of presentations.  The one-half day presentation on poetry writing was very well received.  The participants were impressed with your energy and enthusiasm.  They rated you as being a highly motivating and stimulating as well as a very interesting presenter.  Your audience was delighted with the "hands-on" approach to poetry writing.  One teacher commented that she would be able to apply your concepts with her first grade class because you had explained it so simply.  The participants left the session anxious to use your poetry writing ideas in the classroom this year.

We appreciate your efforts to combine poetry writing with music in an entertaining manner.  It was a pleasure to work with you this past August. We wish you continued success in the future.

Sincerely,

Dear Mr. Larke,

Your presentation on March 28, 2000 to the students at our school was excellent.  You made learning fun.  Your positive attitude was contagious!  We appreciate your patience and enthusiasm.  Your poetry dealt with things that the students could relate to in their personal experiences.  Sandyman, your dog, was a wonderful asset to your program.  The students enjoyed watching him as you performed your poetry.  You made every student feel important and encouraged them to write, write, write...  "WE had fun!" was an echo we heard in our halls throughout the day.  Thank you for sharing your knowledge of poetry writing.  It was an eye-opening experience for our students and teachers.  Keep up the good work of making learning FUN!!

Professionally yours

        Dear Joe,

I just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed your visit recently.  What a great opportunity for our whole school to be able to view your presentation.  Very seldom do we have a visitor that actually keeps the attention of the whole student body.  The students loved listening to you and watching Sandyman and even more being able to participate.  It was so much fun to see the little ones listening so intently and I left the upper class assembly feeling warm hearted at the way they enjoyed and participated in your session.

I hope you enjoyed your visit to Oklahoma City and please know that you are welcome anytime.  As soon as you get Dopie Dope produced, I want to have him as a permanent member in our library.  Do come back and see us.

Sincerely,
Janice Cook

Dear Joe,

I can't tell you how fortunate I feel to have you come to our first Author's Day.  It has been several weeks now since you were at our school; and students, teachers, and parents are still commenting about your visit!  They all appreciated your good nature and quick humor, and many teachers and parents have told me how much they appreciated your comments about your own difficulties during your school years.

Your fifty minute sessions with the children were so well organized, informative, and entertaining that the time seemed to pass too quickly.  It was particularly gratifying to see how you so easily motivated and captivated each individual grade level from  Kindergarten through Fifth Grade.

We look forward to having you again soon!

Very truly yours,
