Joe and Sandyman on School Visits

In  1991, Joe developed a teaching guide.  It explains a simple and enjoyable method for writing poems and how to keep them in rhythm.  All kids have an active imagination and love to express their adventures  (both real and imaginary)  in a way that can be understood and enjoyed by others.  A four or six line poem can convey a lot of information, and do it in a way that is entertaining for the writer and those who read them.  Let's face it, most children will shy away from what they perceive as work and pursue fun activities.  Joe teaches them that writing is "FUN" and others will share in that "FUN"  by reading their poems.

"Joe and I tailor the presentations to  benefit the student body attending.  We set up our sound system for the music tapes.   We always involve the audience in the program and leave them eager to read and write their own poems."

Close Encounters

Close interaction with my young pals is very rewarding.  I let them know that I was an average student, and started writing later in life.  I enjoy telling stories that make everyone "grin a bit".  Writing poems is a "FUN" way to do it, and if I can... they can too.

Sandyman

Not only is "Sandyman" my best pal and good company on my road trips; he is the star attraction for the children. They become more at ease and receptive to my message.  He has captured many young hearts over the years.

Next room, Joe will introduce Dopie Dope.
